Honorary Major 1st, Royal Lancashire Militia, 4 Apr 1881; Acting Adjutant, 4th Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, Jul 1882; Major 20 Mar 1886; Honorary Lieutenant Colonel 9 Apr 1886; Lieutenant Colonel 26 Nov 1887; Honorary Colonel 9 Dec 1887. Lieutenant Colonel Commandant 5 Oct 1895. Retired 13 Oct 1899. Justice of the Peace, Lancashire. This officer was permitted to hold commissions in two Forces at the same time.
