Photo Gallery - First World War

Photograph album of Charles Leslie Roberts, including 7th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, 1914-1919; Machine Gun Corps etc.

The album compiled by Charles Leslie Roberts.  Who was commissioned into the 7th Battalion King’s Own on 26th September 1914 as 2nd Lieutenant.  He was promoted to Lieutenant on 30th November 1914.  He was transferred to the 10th Battalion on 10th August 1915 and then out of the Regiment to the Machine Gun Corps on 24th February 1916.  Images in the album include dummy machine guns, trench digging, machine gun on ranges, social and private photographs, huts and accommodation.  Horses and grooms etc.  Also photos at places such as Grantham, reflecting his time with the Machine Gun Corps ends up with Grantham to Dublin via the Irish Channel in 1919.
