Comforts Funds and Appeals for Soldiers Welfare

During the First World War there were many comforts funds, fundraising associations and appeals for the welfare of soldiers.  The museum's collections contain some interesting items from the time.

Accession Number: KO2302/01



Christmas Puddings for Our Armies at the Front appeal, with card address to Mrs Mary Briggs, Mayoress of Lancaster during the First World.  She was heavily involved in many of the fund raising and welfare activities and did much to support the soldiers of the local Territorial Force battalion, the 5th Battalion of the King's Own.
