Soldiers of the Regiment

Private Charles Whitehurst

Private Charles Whitehurst served with the King's Own Royal Regiment in the Second World War.  He was part of the British Expeditionary Force and served in France and Belgium and withdrew through Dunkirk.  He later served with the 1st Battalion in Italy in 1944 and 1945, which suggests he may have been with the 8th Battalion in Malta.
