Soldiers of the 1st Battalion did not all arrive in Korea on the same day; the medal rolls confirm the advance party, main body and subsequent drafts of men: 6th September 1953; 8th October; 10th October; 17th December, 1953; 11th January 1954; 31st January; 23rd March; 22nd April and 15th May 1954.
