Photo Gallery 1920s - 1930s 2nd King's Own, Colour Ceremony, in Windsor, 1937 On 9th July 1937 a Ceremony was held at Windsor Castle at which the 1859 Colours were restored to the Regiment by the Earl of Athlone, Constable of the Castle, on behalf of King George VI. Lieutenant E W Matthews received the Queen's Colour and Lieutenant N St. G. Gribbon the Regimental Colour. These Colours had been laid up in the Chapel in Windsor Castle following the presentation of New Colours by Queen Victoria in 1878.
