Major General Herbert Charles Borrett CB

Born 23 Sep 1841. Joined the King’s Own Regiment as Ensign 29 Oct 1858. Lieutenant 1862. Quartermaster General’s Depot at Poona, 1 Dec 1866 to 3 Nov 1867, and Adjutant General Depot, Poona, 4 Nov 1867 to 15 Dec 1867. Served in Abyssinian Campaign. Adjutant 1st Battalion 2 Jan 1869 to 21 Sep 1870. Captain 1870. Major 1880. Lieutenant Colonel 2nd in Command 1st Battalion from October 1881. Commanding 1886. Brevet Colonel 1887. Major General 1889. Retired 1903. Died 4 April 1919. Father of C A Borrett and Oswald C Borrett.
