Family History

The museum receives hundreds of enquiries relating to family history. Please go to our new website for full information on our research service and how to get in touch: Regimental Research Enquiries.

Please note that while we are pleased to help where we can, we do not have information on every soldier who ever served in the Regiment.

We also do not hold service records of soldiers or officers, so we may not able to assist your research until you have obtained a service record from another organisation. Records pre-1920 are held at The National Archives and post-1920 by the Ministry of Defence. You can make an online application to see these via the gov.uk website: Get a copy of military records of service.

For details of the range and scope of materials that we do hold in the collection, check our Resources page.
