Soldiers of the 6th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, Mesopotamia, circa 1916.

Support our acquisition of the First World War albums of Lieutenant Forbes-Taylor of the 6th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

The museum has recently acquired three photograph and scrap albums of Lieutenant Forbes-Taylor who served with the 6th and 10th Battalions of the King's Own, and later the 84th Punjabi Regiment in the First World War.  The albums cost £3400.  This has almost exhausted the museum's acquisition funds.  Please help us by making a donation towards the cost of the albums.  Donate Now!

You can make donations on line via our fundraising partners eBay for Charity and Mission Fish.  You will need a PayPal account.  Donate now to the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum.  Using the 'Donate Now' facility.

We plan to fully digitise the contents of the album and add them to our website, but this will also take time and resources to complete.

Some of the photographs are unique, and research is on going to establish the exact locations.  They include the training of the 6th King's Own in England; the 6th King's Own in Gallipoli; the 10th Battalion in England and the 6th King's Own in Mesopotamia.
