Medaille d'Honneur des Affairs Etrangeres dite ‘due President’ in the museum's collection

A rare medal awarded by the President of France to foreigners for special services to Frenchmen or as a token of appreciation in instances such as a state visit. The swords are a division given to military recipients. A small number of these medals were awarded to Allied troops in France during World War One, in most cases for saving lives of French citizens.”

bullet Major George Theodore Elphinstone Keith, King’s Own Royal Regiment.  KO0823/08
