Collections - Medals Medaille d'Honneur des Affairs Etrangeres dite ‘due President’ in the museum's collection A rare medal awarded by the President of France to foreigners for special services to Frenchmen or as a token of appreciation in instances such as a state visit. The swords are a division given to military recipients. A small number of these medals were awarded to Allied troops in France during World War One, in most cases for saving lives of French citizens.”
