Mrs Owtram's Letters from soldiers and their relatives, First World War.

Letter to Mrs Owtram from Corporal William Pickthall Number 3092, later 241036, 1st/5th Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, enlisted on 21 Oct 1914 and discharged 6 Aug 1917

Corporal Pickthall
Military Hospital, Knutsford, Cheshire
Dear Mrs Owtram,
Just a line to thank you for your kind letter and parcel which I received on the 29th Oct. I was very pleased to hear that Captain Owtram is still safe. We were back in the same Company, I think in a few weeks I will be fit to come home, but I don’t think I will ever be fit for active service again as I have a ? foot now.
I remain yours truly
Corporal Pickthall 3092
