Use of Aeroplanes by the 1st Battalion, Egypt, June 1933

In June 1933 this series of photographs was taken of the 1st Battalion training with aircraft in Egypt.  Air transport was ruled out, at the time, as an impractical way of moving troops.  The limited capacity of the aircraft, with only a handful of troops being accommodated at anyone time, meant that troops would continue to be moved by ship.
