1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment at
Wellington Barracks, Southern India.
This wall plate is made of Muntz Metal; it looks life brass, yet
requires no cleaning. The Lion and IV are in raised Silver, and
the lettering beneath is in Sunk Black. The Rose is in raised Red
Enamel, and the Numbers, Ranks, Names and dates are in Sunk Red.
This Plate was put in the St. George's Garrison Church, Wellington,
before the final move of the 1st Battalion to Madras in September 1937.
The Plate was purchased by subscriptions from Serving Officers, NCOs and
men of the 1st Battalion.
